Kokoda Trek 2019

Join Team Bears of Hope and tick this one off your bucket list

A physically challenging trek into the heartland of Papua New Guinea, the Kokoda Trail holds a very important place in Australian history. Commencing at Ower’s Corner, your trek follows the 96km Kokoda Trail across the Owen Stanley Range to the Village of Kokoda. You will be spoilt by a constant backdrop of pristine rainforest wilderness, and local villages providing a unique cultural perspective.

Organised by Adventure Excellence, we invite you to join Team Bears Of Hope and fundraise for our charity to help achieve our vision of providing leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, nenonatal or infant loss. This is a trek that you can feel proud to say you’ve completed; as a mark of respect to Australian wartime history, and of course, as a personal challenge helping to make a difference in honour of a precious baby.

"In the lead up to Kokoda I fundraised for Bears of Hope to help other bereaved families, raised awareness about pregnancy and infant loss, and continued to do what I could to shine Darcy’s little light and give his brief life a purpose and lasting legacy. I was blown away with the support and so proud to have raised almost $11,000! It meant the world to me to do this as I know first hand just how much Bears of Hope means to so many parents and their families.Trekking Kokoda was one of the most challenging yet rewarding, and one of the best week’s of my life! I would highly recommend taking the challenge and trekking in honour of your angels to support such an amazing cause!" Darcy's Aunty
